“Once again, we as ambassadors of the Makinde Administration are very proud that the governor has fulfilled a promise he made to the people of Oyo State to enhance the economy of Oyo State through the instrumentality of agriculture. More poignant is that the governor enabled this initiative putting the youth in focus.

“This is the first time in a very long time that the youth in Oyo State would have a hope in the government coming to lend its helping hands in addressing the problem of unemployment. We commend Governor Seyi Makinde fo this lofty goal. We are of the absolute belief that the innovation of the state governments to get the youths gainfully productive would more advantages beyond poverty reduction or elimination.

“Without doubt, it will even rub positively on the tremendous improvement in the security of the state.

Furthermore, the Oyo State Youth Empowerment in Agro-business Programme will boost the rural development of localities in Oyo State. With the flag off of the programme in Afijio and the guarantee of similar scheme in places like Ajia, Eruwa and others, it can safely be said that Oyo State is already set for rural-urban integration and all-round development.

The statement remarks that when the programme comes full stream and with the dexterity the government is employing in its implementation, “the state government would have secured a profitable social investment as the initiative is poised to increase government revenue.”
