The National Senate of the Federation of Oyo State Students Union, FOSSU, has condemned the “insane act” of rapists in the country.

The Senate of the union, in a statement made available to OYOINSIGHT.COM, also described those who engage in such acts as “animalistic” because “real men don’t rape.”

“It is disheartening that rape has become an epidemic in Nigeria. Over the years, this insane act is not as a rampant as we have it today, hence the need for all hands to be on deck.

“Sequel to the recently rape and murder of some Students, FOSSU ational Senate writes to condemn such nefarious act currently emerging in our immediate environment.

“As we condemn such act, we also wish to caution men of all ages to say no to rape. It is undisputable that rape is carried out by animalistic persons and moreover, real men don’t rape,” a statement by the association’s senate read.

The association, however, charged “lawmakers at all levels to be prompt in making or amending rape-related laws and also ensure that the law has its full manifestation in every localities.”

“Our prayers and thought are with Miss Barakat and Grace Oshiagwu’s family,” they added.
