It is one day, one day for the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Few days after the leadership of the party across the local government in the state claimed they were okay with the leadership of former governor Abiola Ajimobi and the Chief Akin Oke led Excos.
OYO INSIGHT recalled the party has not been having it easy especially since the party primaries that produced candidates for the 2019 elections.
Apart from those who defected from the party, many others have come out to express their minds against the Ajimobi and Oke’s leadership of the party.
The APC aspirants Forum is the latest in such direction.
In a statement made available to OYO INSIGHT by its publicity secretary, Dejo Adebisi, the group said that it rejected the purported “vote of confidence” passed by the leadership of the party on itself, adding that what the party needs at the moment “is self-examination of what led to the current state of affairs in the party, and fashioning out how to avoid a repeat in the coming elections, and not this monthly passage of “vote of confidence” in an expired Exco begging to be retired.”
APC ASPIRANTS FORUM,  OYO-STATE CHAPTER.
PRESS STATEMENT.
OYO APC; GROUPS, RECONCILIATION & THREATS.
The FORUM rose from its monthly Exco meeting where it reviewed issues relating to the strengthening of the party vis-a-vis the unwholesome utterances by the current party leadership and wish to state as follows :
That the FORUM rejects the purported “vote of confidence” passed by the leadership of the party in itself. This in the thinking of the Forum is akin to a tiny corps of war generals /unit commanders awarding itself medals, in the market Square, after suffering a humiliating defeat in battle, while the townspeople watched in bewilderment!
The way forward, in the opinion of the Forum, is self-examination of what led to the current state of affairs in the party, and fashioning out how to avoid a repeat in the coming elections, and not this monthly passage of “vote of confidence” in an expired Exco begging to be retired.
This is because they are patently confused and jittery, resulting in their double speak of reconciliation on one hand and threatening sanction to those at the receiving end of their unholy actions on the other!
They should know that this forum is rock-solid, formidable and unshakeable, affiliated to the national body. The threat therefore, is of no effect. Our focus is very clear, we, together with other groups with which we share the same vision represent the future of APC; the real progressives, the face of the NEXT LEVEL  in our dear state – Oyo.
This threat of sanction only reinforces the agitation for exco -change within the party by various interest groups, all thrown up by the current exco’s lack of human resource management capacity.
The Forum therefore reinstates its earlier position that the issue at stake is not about this their motely passage of “vote of confidence” in themselves but VOTE OF COMPETENCE , which can only be achieved through a CHANGE in Leadership.
