LG Polls: 33 Days After, OYSIEC Yet To Pay Adhoc Staff

Below is the statement made available to Oyo Insight by the adhoc staff (unedited)

Three months to the Oyo State local government Elections in May, the Oyo State Governement announced the elections would be coming up on the 12th of May, 2018 and so it happened. And sequel to that announcement, OYSIEC also called the general public and particularly the youths who are interested in participatng as adhoc staff should therefore apply

Training of adhoc staff started three days to the election and on Friday preceding the Saturday 12th of May,2018 all polling station officers and assistant officers were asked to stay all night in designated schools without proper accommodation and welfare package for distribution of ballot and logistics of the elections the following day.

The election went well and up until this publication is released today being the 15th of June, 2018 NO DIME HAS BEEN PAID BY OYSIEC nor THE OYO STATE GOVERNMENT as RENUMERATION TO ALL THE ADHOC STAFFS IN ALL THE 33 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS OF THIS STATE.

WE HEREBY USE THIS AMPLE OPPORTUNITY TO REQUEST FOR OUR DUE PAY, as the work has been done by the Adhoc  Staffs and they are all entitled to get their fair rewards.

We also appeal to His Excellency , Oyo State Governor, Sen. Isiaq Ajimobi, Mr Bimbo Adekanbi, the Commissioner of Finance and Budget and Mr Jide Ajeigbe, OYSIEC Chairman to sit on a round table and solve this out once and for all and pay these people.

This Government alongside OYSIEC Chairman have refused to pay people that worked through thick and thin during the Oyo State local government elections. And yet all we hear is the Government has done so much and ordinary Adhoc Staff have to wait one month and 3 days before making this publication.
