The disagreement between ‘Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State and Adebisi AbdulRasheed seems to be over as the latter visited the former today.

OYOINSIGHT.COM understands that the visit, though a congratulatory one, was part of the reconciliatory efforts.

Olopoeniyan, this newspaper understands, was one of those who ensured the emergence of Makinde in the 2019 election.

It would be recalled that Olopoeniyan, as Adebisi is fondly called, had defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, following irreconcilable difference with Makinde over the handling of appointments in the administration.

Few days before the election, Babatunde Oduyoye, Makinde’s political adviser and a two-term former member of the house of representative, was said to have visited Olopoeniyan on the need to work for Makinde. Though details of the meeting wasn’t disclosed, both parties refused to talk about it. Teslim Folarin and Adebayo Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress, APC and Accord respectively as well as Florence Ajimobi also visited Olopoeniyan before the polls.

Instead of stepping down for one of the leading candidates, Olukayode Joshua of the NNPP went to the election.
