Igboora-born Physician Emerges Oyo AMDO Chair

    An Igboora born physician, Dr Olaoye, Solomon Olagoke has emerged the new chairman of the association of medical and dental officers (AMDO) of Oyo state, Nigeria.

    The current medical director of the General Hospital, Kisi, Oyo state who had his undergraduate medical training at the University of Ilorin, Kwara state was elected unopposed at the 2023 elective AGM of the association held on Tuesday, 12th September at the Ring Road state hospital (RRSH), Ibadan, Oyo state.

    Dr Olaoye Solomon holds a Masters degree in Pharmacology and therapeutics also from the University of Ilorin and was inducted as a fellow of the Chulabhorn research institute, University of Mahidol, Bangkok, Thailand. He has to his credit postgraduate certification in environmental and reproductive toxicology, epidemiology and health financing amongst others.

    While accepting his election, the new chairman pledged loyalty to the association and solicited for the unwavering support of all members. He promised to further consult and consolidate on the consultations of his predecessor in his engagement with the Oyo state government towards bringing back and ensuring continuous industrial harmony in state health sector. He, as well challenged his colleagues to be up and doing while hoping for the best from the new executive council.
