The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has reacted to a media report, where he was credited to have called the Gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party, ADP in Oyo State, Otunba Adebayo Alao an ‘Inconsequential’
A statement issued by the Seyi Makinde For Good Governance, discredited the statement as misleading and should be dismissed.
The statement reads :
‘I DON’T NEED AKALA TO WIN, HE IS INCONSEQUENTIAL’ SEYI MAKINDE
Our attention has been drawn to the terms of a circulating recent Social Media publication credited to some disgruntled elements , wherein the Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde was miscontrued to have called a veteran Politician and former Governor, Otunba Alao Akala an ‘inconsequential’.
Ordinarily, we would not have reacted to this statement but in an attempt to preserve the dignity of Engineer Makinde. In the same vein, we would have ordinarily chosen to ignore this release as a joke and effusion of gas but it be a dangerous and expensive joke if not attended to.
However, we expect those who are feeling jittery about the chance of success of Makinde in the forthcoming Gubernatorial poll to conduct themselves by attending issues that bother Oyo State rather than resulting to campaign of calumny that would not result to any productive result in their favour.
In the light of the about, we reiterate that, Makinde is committed and focused to serving the people better. He is concerned about improving more on pro-active efforts rather than resulting to clampdown of opposition.
It is now visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that, Makinde is the People’s choice in the state and the electorate have resulted to revolution in their overwhelming support for his candidature.
We hereby urge the members of the public who might have been in doubt by the misinformation to disregard it. Makinde needs the support of everyone to become the Governor of Oyo State.
Signed by Adebayo Aremu for Seyi Makinde For Good Governance.
