Court Orders Arrest Of Alleged Gay Husband

A court in Nigeria has issued a warrant of arrest on a man who has been accused of engaging in homosexuality.

According to report by a Lagos-based newspaper, PM News on February 29, 2020, a Lagos state High Court ordered the immediate arrest of a 39-year old man, Mr Lateef Jimoh. The order of arrest followed a complaint filed by one Mrs Fatimo Jimoh.

Mrs Jimoh alleged that Mr Lateef Jimoh engages in secret romance with a man identified as Mr Balogun Oriyomi while still married to the complainant.

According to Mrs Jimoh who is said to be Mr Jimoh’s spouse said he has been parading his secret lover as ordinary friend until she caught them in the act.

Report has it that Mr Jimoh and his co-accused, Mr Balogun are still at large after both suspects fled from the residence of Mr Jimoh where the alleged indecent act took place.

Police in Nigeria have warned homosexuals to seek another society outside Nigeria to carry out their acts or face prosecution. This warning has prompted sexual minorities to flee the country in large numbers seeking protection in western nations where sexual minority rights are protected.
