The controversy surrounding the health status of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Senator Isiaq Abiola Ajimobi has continued to gain momentum.
Even though his special adviser on communication and strategy, Bolaji Tunji, has described the news that his boss is currently receiving medical attention at a First Cardiology hospital in Lagos, over coronavirus infection as untrue, this has done little to discredit the multiple reports on Ajimobi’s health status.
Top Splash News had, in an exclusive report on the 4th June, reported that Ajimobi is currently undergoing treatment in a Lagos for COVID-19.
According to the report, Ajimobi “was said to have had ‘serious difficulty’ breathing, following which he was said to have been attached to a ventilator at the popular hospital.”
The report also alleged that Ajimobi’s wife, Florence, is seriously Ill.
However, several individuals have continued to make comments that suggest the statement by the Governor’s aide is not popular.
Vereran journalist and consummate public analyst, Babajide Kolade-Otitoju, in a post on his Facebook page on Saturday wrote, “Dear God, heal this good man, one of the best governors of his generation of his ailment, whether it is the snare of Coronavirus or whatever it is. I don’t like what I am hearing.”
Meanwhile, to add credence to his claim, Bolaji Tunji, in a post on his Facebook page posted a recent picture he took with the wife of the former governor.
In the post, he wrote, “With Dr (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi… Fake news will never kill us in this country. Like my boss, HEK used to say, it is not everything you react to. Even people speak of the dead, not to talk about the living. It is well.”
