YULETIDE: Babaloja-General Warns Oyo Residents Over COVID-19

As the people in Oyo State join Christians all over the world to celebrate this year Christmas and New year, a prominent leader in the state, Alhaji Sunmaila Aderemi Jimoh, the Babaloja-General has advised people to be cautious of security of their lives and property, he also advised people to be mindful of the danger in handling the resurgence of Covid-19 pandemic nonchalantly.

Speaking in Ibadan on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25th, Alhaji Jimoh gave the advise in his Christmas message to the people of Oyo State. He also seized the opportunity to congratulate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, on his 53rd birthday.

“Today, being a special day to us in Oyo State, we are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ and that of the number one citizen in the state. Let me first congratulate His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde who is celebrating his 53rd birthday today, I pray God Almighty grant him more years in good health on the planet earth.

“I felicitate His Excellency and his wife, the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Religious leaders, Royal Fathers and Chiefs, the Acting Iyaloja-General, Chief (Mrs.) Tina Ogundoyin, Southwest Coordinator of the National Association of Nigeria Traders, Chief (Mrs.) Odunayo Danjuma, Otun Iyaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje, Babaloja-Generals and Iyaloja-Generals from the 5 Zones, Ibadanland, Oyo, Ogbomoso, Oke-Ogun, Ibarapaland and market leaders from the 33 local government and LCDA in Oyo State, all Christians and the good people of Oyo State, as we all celebrate this year Christmas and hope to celebrate together the new year by God’s grace,” Alhaji Jimoh stated.

“The birth of Jesus brought hope to the world and gave us opportunity to reconnect back to God. So, our expectations from those in the corridor of power, especially, the political office holders is to be representatives of God here on earth.

“I pray God Almighty create in our political leaders, heart of love that would always remember God’s undiluted love and grace for us, which we all know was His reason for sending Jesus Christ to die for our sins.

“They should be fair to the masses, distribute wisely our common wealth, provide us adequate security, make the country habitable for businesses to grow and entice investors with good relieves. Doing these will lead to creation of more jobs for our youths and by extension reduced crime rate.

“As we look forward to God’s intervention on the resurgence of Covid-19, I want us all to be mindful of the danger pose by this terrible virus. We should observe every precautionary measure stated by the NCDC during the festive period.

“Let me also add this, we should likewise be sensitive to happenings around us, be cautious of security of our lives and property as we celebrate. We should discourage night party, staying late at clubs and joints to prevent hoodlums and armed robbers from using the opportunity to launch attack on innocent people,” he advised.

“I pray God Almighty make year 2021 full of divine blessings, accelerated progress and grant Governor Seyi Makinde more grace to intensify efforts in his determination to transform our darling Pacesetters’ state. I wish everyone joyous celebration and happy New year in advance,” Babaloja-General prayed.
