The founder of Folorunso Iserere Foundation (FIF), Dr. Folorunso, has explained in a media chat with newsmen in Ibadan the reason why he thought of founding the non-governmental and non-profit making organization to bring about desirable development to the grassroots people.
According to the (FIF) founder, he believes that, there is need to conceptualize and support people at the grassroots level of our local communities. He added that, the need to create and innovate interventions that will facilitates access to ideas and resources in enhances citizens to attain their full potential is key to our social security and welfare development.
While explaining the area of focus of the foundation, he stated that;
“On Education; the organization will be conducting activities to enhance the availability, reach and quality of formal;(including primary, secondary, tertiary, adult, entrepreneurial, vocational and technical), and informal education.”
“On Health; the organization will be supporting activities that contributes to a healthy and thriving populace through advocating for, creating awareness and promotion of, and facilitating provision of basic, preventive, diagnostic and curative healthcare services; facilitating access to, adequate number of and capacity building of healthcare staff; innovative financing (capital and recurrent) of access to healthcare services; and facilitating provision of health infrastructure and equipment. There will be a conscious focus on infant/neonatal/child, adolescent, maternal and geriatrics healthcare system.”
“On Wealth Creation and Empowerment; the organization will be identifying and supporting small and medium scale ventures, businesses and enterprises. It will be enhancing their productive capacity through providing and facilitating access to seed grants and appropriate tools and innovative ideas/current thought processes and enhancing knowledge and skills building sessions targeted towards specific ventures, businesses and enterprises.”
“On Agriculture; the organization will be supporting subsistence and mechanized farming, aimed at ensuring individuals or organizations successfully grow food, cash, plantation and horticulture crops for their subsistence and economic benefit.”
Other area of focus are; sports and recreation, civic engagement and innovation conceptualization.
