Air Vice Marshal Jacob (rtd) and Helen Oluwafunmilayo Bolaji, Akogun & Yeye Akogun of Ogbomosoland respectively, have described Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala has humility personified as the former governor celebrates his 71st birthday.
The duo, in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, said they are proud to be associated with the Ogbomoso-born politician.
According to the couple, the former governor has always been a pride to all, especially those who are close to him.
“For those of us who are from Ogbomoso, we hold him dearly and in high esteem. He is in the mould of late Chief Samuel Ladoke and Chief Sunday Adewusi. When he retired as an Assistant Commissioner of Police and joined politics, he was one of the council chairmen whose performances were always heard, even beyond Ogbomoso. Our people in Ogbomoso were always talking about him. And so, in the build-up to the 2003 election, it did not come to us as a surprised when he was nominated as deputy governorship candidate of his then party.
“When he was deputy governor and later governor, he was concerned about development and empowerment of people.
“We pray God preserve him for us to continue to tap from his stream of wisdom and wide network,” the couple prayed.
