Evolve, a motivational book that contains detailed guide on how humans can achieve success, written by Adedigba Stephen, was officially launched in Ibadan on Tuesday.

The presentation of the book took place during Evolve Conference 2020.

Speaking at the event, the keynote speaker and Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism in Oyo State, Wasiu Olatunbosun urged participants, especially youths, to “create what they want to be, because if they pursue it they will get there.”

Highlighting how he overcome various hurdles to move from being a student, whose father was not ready to sponsor his education, to bagging a doctorate degree in political communication, the Commissioner noted that to evolve, people must be focused and at the same time prayerful.

He described the author as a promising star and a loyal person. “He served in my office and I can say he is very hardworking, dogged, loyal, and very resourceful,” he noted.

The book reviewer, Dr. Charles Oni described the book “as an aggregation of the seminars that the author has delivered to mobilize young stars.”

He urged buyers not to buy the book but to read it and put the content into practice.

“In this book, Stephen has told us that impossibility is dead,”he said.

“In the story of how he discovered himself, he was able to deduce that if he continued to be a failure, he had no future.”

Dr. Oni, who described the author as a child of grace, noted that the illustrations in the book were written out of experience.

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser on Youth and Sports affairs to Governor Seyi Makinde, Kazeem Bolarinwa, noted that to evolve, youths must prioritise personal development and be hardworking.

Bolarinwa, who was the second speaker at the conference, emphasized that youths must be inspired and not depressed by the success of others.

Earlier, in his welcome address, the author expressed his gratitude to everyone who graced the occasion.

The author, who also celebrated his birthday during the conference, noted that the book contains some personal experience on how he evolved.

“I used to be a dullard until I got to primary 5 and a teacher of mine called me and said I am shameless because I am beating my cousin, who was my classmate, and was more brilliant than me.

“I went from being that kind of individual to graduating top of my class at Yabatech,” he said.

The conference also featured a panel session moderated by communications expert, Osele George.
