At the event held in Ibadan, the All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain hosted beneficiaries of the scheme who scored above 200 in the examination and engaged them on the admission process of their respective institutions so far.

While promising to award scholarships to the best student from each local government who gains admission into a federal university, Adekanmbi revealed that the process for this year’s edition of the free JAMB form has commenced.

According to him, this year’s edition of the programme has been modified to ensure students from Oyo South and Central senatorial districts can benefit from the programme. This move is an improvement on the last edition which was open to students in Oyo central senatorial district only.

He also charged the students to become the best version of themselves as they prepare for the University.

Citing the recent case of Paystack, he explained that with the right level of dedication and focus, they have what it takes to get to any level in life.

“There is nothing the owners of PlayStack and Stripe achieved that you can’t,” he said.

Speaking on his political plans, Adekanmbi confirmed that has joined the 2023 senatorial race.

“Yes, I am going to run for the Oyo South senatorial race in 2023 by the special grace of God. Anytime anybody wants to go for any elective post, you have to be a member of a political party and I am a member of the All Progressives Congress.”

“If you are sincerely vying for an elective post, it must be from the people and we have related with a lot of people across all the local government in Oyo South and they think we have a good chance to represent them,”he added.

Meanwhile, multiple students and parents of beneficiaries present lauded Adekanmbi for his efforts.

One of the students, Ajadi Azeez, who is currently processing his admission to study at the University of Ibadan, described his contributions as a remarkable one.
