A former lawmaker representing Oluyole Federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Olusunbo Olugbemi has commiserated with the people of Oyo State over the death of former governor Abiola Ajimobi.
OYOINSIGHT.COM reports that Ajimobi died in Lagos on Thursday after a brief illness.
In a statement on his Facebook page, Hon. Olusunbo stated that the sudden and untimely death of Ajimobi has created a vacuum too large for anyone to fill.
He added that Ajimobi will be greatly missed for his peerless leadership trait.
His statement reads,”I received with rude shock the sudden news of the demise of immediate past Governor of the Pacesetters’ state. It is very shocking to receive the news of his death at the time he was recuperating and it was anticipated that he was going to resume his leadership roles. I am personally griefed that the death came at a time that the goodwill and wealth of experience of Governor Ajimobi was required to put the ruling party in perspective. His sudden and untimely death has created a vacuum too large for anyone to fill.
“Sen. Ajimobi who was an elder stateman, a Leader and prominent son of Ibadanland will be greatly missed for his peerless leadership trait. We all take solace in the fact that he lived a very fullfiled life having reached the peak of his career in the cooperate world before becoming a Senator of the federal republic and later a jinx breaking two term Governor.
“I commiserate with Mummy (Mrs Florence Ajimobi) , his Children , the Ajimobi family, and entire people of Oyo State as well as people of Oluyole Federal Constituency, May his gentle soul rest in perfect Peace.”
