Primus Media Honours ‘Lekan Alabi, Orimolade, Ozolua At February’s Edition Of Media Nite

On Saturday the 22nd of February, the city of Ibadan once again experienced a unique gathering of the media industry at the February edition of The Media Nite, organized by Primus Media Academy.

In his opening address, Afouda Samuel, a Lawyer and Media practitioner, who is also the Director of Primus Media Academy, announced that the event was conceived to serve as a networking platform for all media practitioner in the ancient city of Ibadan. He is of the opinion that, with the recent proliferation of media establishments in the city and the daily technological advancements in the world, the platform becomes imperative to ensure unity of purpose, corporate advancement and the setting of an agenda that will be beneficial to the city, the industry and its practitioners.

The monthly event, held at the luxurious Mauve Lounge on the Ring Road axis of the town, was well attended by practitioners across all sectors of the industry and different generations, as well as some die hard media enthusiasts.

 

Apart from the fellowship and networking opportunities the electrifying atmosphere afford the attendees, it was also an avenue to honour some distinguished practitioners in 3 different categories; the Legend category, the Icon Category and the Shining Star category. At the just concluded edition, Omowale Ozolua of Beat FM was honoured in the Shining Star category, Opeyemi Orimolade of BCOS was honoured in the Icon Category while Veteran Journalist, who is also the Agbaakin Olubadan of Ibadan, Oloye Lekan Alabi was honoured in the Legend category.

While addressing the gathering, he admonished practitioners to be true to the profession and urge Media organizations to prioritize the welfare of their work force.

The event had in attendance the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism in Oyo State, Hon. Wasiu Olatunbosun, Mogaji Moshood Gbolagade Akere, Mr. Yinka Agboola (Publisher of Parrot Extra Magazine), Mr. Yemi Sonde (CEO of Yes Media), Tony Rowland Awobode (Don T) among many other dignitaries and media practitioners across different sectors and organizations. It was indeed a perfect networking atmosphere!
