Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s principal private secretary, Barr. Seyi Adisa, has commenced the renovation of Awe High School in AFIJIO local government area of Oyo State.
Adisa, who is aspiring to represent AFIJIO state constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Awe-born politician, who distributed over 500 school bags with notebooks to pupils in the council area, is expected to distribute school uniforms and textbooks beginning from this week.
The lawyer cum politician, who joined in the painting of the administrative block of the school, told OYO INSIGHT that it was just a coincidence that the gesture was coming at the same time he is aspiring. “This is not the first time I will be giving back to the society. Philantrophy runs deep inside of me. In fact, I have been assisting my people before I returned to the country in 2010. Government cannot do everything. We all have to do our own bit to help society. There are other programmes lined up for my people. Apart from Awe, it will spread to other communities in this local government,” he quipped as he was painting.
An obviously-elated Adisa, who was surrounded by students of the institution, said that education creates opportunities for all.
