The leadership oof the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State, has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for nominating 27-year Old Seun Fakorede as a commissioner.
Speaking through its publicity secretary, Engr Akeem Olatunji, who was reacting to the nomination, the party urged members of the PDP, especially the youth to rally round the young engineer and give him the needed support to succeed.
He explained that the party and the people of the state are very happy with governor Makinde and his judgements on appointments made and his programs “and therefore, majority of the members of the PDP are happy with Fakorede’s appointment.
Olatunji said “This is the first time in the history of Oyo state that the state governor’s cabinet can boast of about four great lawyers and professors including core experts in different professions, this attests to governor Makinde’s commitment to his promise to deliver. He is already walking his talks as you can see “ise ti ya”, I must also confess to you that PDp in Oyo state is fully in agreement with our talk and do governor, he is making us very proud as you can see he has rebranded the image of our party for the best through his style of leadership so much that other states now makes governor Makinde a reference point when discussing good and quality leadership.”
He stated further that the said controversy trailing Fakorede’s nomination can be likened to a family where the father has many children who at the same time admire him and crave for his arms all at the same time but you and I know that the father can only carry them all one after the other, so that is the situation.
“The PDP as a family in Oyo state is solidly behind our governor and we will not allow any form of distractions from any quarters, for instance if you look at how the speaker of the state house of assembly emerged you will agree with me that it by merit, if politics was allowed to play out in the process of choosing the leadership of the house maybe we might be having a different set of leadership in place by now so you see it is not always politics; that is what most people do not understand, after politics comes governance and when you are governor it means you are the father of all including all opposition parties in the state, so it behoves on the governor’s wisdom to choose anyone who will help him actualize his economic blueprint within a reasonable time.
“Regardless of party affiliations everybody should be ready to play a role when called upon by the governor because that is the true essence of democracy, gone are the days of me and my party alone, no! Now the governor is paying workers salaries by 25th of every month, the burden of school fees payments placed on parents by Ajimobi/APC led government has been banned, now it is free quality and sound education for all, contractors are back at sites working everyday, new ministries have been created to pursue employment generations and economic recovery, everybody is happy, I mean Governor Makinde has surpassed everybody’s expectations within the short space of time with the remarkable achievements so far, so, yes! Mr. Seun Fakorede is welcome on board and he is assured of our full support because we as a party and family believes in whatever governor Makinde believes in towards achieving a better and greater Oyo state we will all be proud o
