True to a promise of deploying his network of influence to sustainably empower AFIJIO youths, Mr. Seyi Adisa has facilitated a partnership that will see to the equipping of 100 youths with business and entrepreneurial skills, effective immediately.
Set to be officially launched on Monday, the 3rd of December, 2018, the 100 youths, 10 each from the 10 wards in AFIJIO, will be put in groups of 20, and trained in 5 major crafts which include paint production, shoe-making, tie and dye, fish farming and snail rearing, and smallchops production (catering).
The goal of this training, which will be overseen by the E Je Ka Seyi team, is to effectively tackle unemployment in AFIJIO, as it will look to continuously equip the erstwhile untrained hands, even after they must have graduated from the training.
At the end of this training, the graduands will be empowered with a take-off grant to establish a sustainable business.
While speaking at a ward meeting in Ilora about this official launch, Adisa, who is Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s principal private secretary, echoed the intention behind the scheme, describing it as borne out of a desire to close the gap of unemployment with sustainable skills.
In his words, “the idea is to empower Afijio youths with serious and long-term life skills in business and entrepreneurship. We want to turn them from unemployed youths to employers of Labour themselves. This is what we intend to do and keep doing by the grace of God”
The 7Eleven Foundation is a Not-for-Profit Organization which equips entrepreneurs with business and technical skills needed to create sustainable businesses. It achieves this through funding schemes, trainings, and mentorship programs.
This latest set of 100 AFIJIO youths will join other youths across the state and the country, who have already benefitted from the foundation’s schemes, and who are already thriving as successful entrepreneurs.
