Oyo South African Democratic Congress, ADC, senatorial candidate, Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi, recently met with various artisan groups to solicit their support for all ADC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The meeting which was held at Mauve 21 Events Centre, Ibadan was very well attended and had 10 delegates each from the following artisan groups like Nylon Cutters, Printers Association, National Agricultural Cooperative Organisation, Master Baker, Carpenters, New Era Professional Tailors, Ram Lovers Association, Association of Handset hard and softwares repairers of Nigeria, Professional Tailors, Embroidery Designers, Hairdressers Association, Vulcanisers, Oyo State Rental Association, Association of Grain Processors, Egbe Agbebi, Association of Nigerian Barbers, Motor Vehicle Artisans, Shoemakers, NATA, Association of Cell Phone Repairers, Oyo State Liquor Sellers, as well as Tradesmen and Artisans.
The distinguished lawmaker used the opportunity to account for his stewardship in the past three and half years as he also declared his intention to recontest for Oyo South Senatorial seat on the platform of the ADC.
Senator Akanbi further gave details and elucidated on the manifesto of the ADC as well as her plans and programmes for Oyo state.
The Association heads were all given the opportunity to respond.
In their words, they emphasised that they do not belong to any political group or association and they responded to the call of Akanbi as a result of his impact and largesse towards the various groups and associations as well as his numerous magic touches and great impact across Oyo South.
There were various testimonies from different people who have benefited from the various programmes of Senator Akanbi as well as those who have seen and also enjoyed his various physical projects. “You are a man who always has the thought of his people at heart and we believe and know that you will never relent in giving us quality and effective representation” one of them said.
They prayed for the general success of the party and appreciated Senator Akanbi and also promised to stand by him and all other ADC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
