People thought it was an armed robbery attack as it wasn’t far from the scene of Idi Ape armed robbery incident of February 10, 2022 but it was not. But with few minutes, people had fled, not knowing it was a political fracas.
Thugs, one of whom was found with identity card belonging to the Park Management System, PMS, attacked the Basorun/Idi Ape home of a former leader, AbdulRasheed Adebisi Olopoeyan, who just joined the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP.
At the end of the whole fracas, many people were injured while the gang members fled the scene. Another thug was arrested and handed over to the police, said another source.
”One of the PMS guys, Ojo, was also arrested by people when he was trying to escape. He was with PMS identity card and he has been handed over to the police. They came in through the Total Petrol station in front of Testing Ground,” said another source who lives around the area.
The attack came few minutes after Olopoeyan formally joined the NNPP.
