In line with its mandate to ensure involvement of the youths in governing process, the Oyo State Government has today inaugurated the Oyo State chapter of the Youths Parliament, in order to ensure that there is a platform for the youth to go through mentoring leadership programmes which will position them to reach their full potentials.
The youths, who were chosen from the thirty local governments of Oyo State were inaugurated today at the Oyo State House of Chiefs by the Honourable Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Olagunju Ojo, with an agenda of being the representative of the teeming Oyo State youths.
The Honourable Speaker while speaking further enjoined the youths to be committed to democracy, democratic processes and how to full get involved because they are undoubtedly going to be the leaders of tomorrow, possibly in the legislature.
Hon Afeez Bolaji Repete, the Special Adviser to Governor Abiola Ajimobi appreciates the Oyo State Government for its commitments towards youths developments.
It is worthy to note that the Nigerian Youths Parliament body was instrumental to the signing of the “Not Too Young To Run” bill.
