Postmaster General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Postal Services, Dr. Ismail Adebayo Adewusi, on Saturday eulogized former interim National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Chief Bisi Akande.
He described Akande, who is also a former Governor of Osun as an exemplary leader who has demonstrated well enough how leadership can be selfless, visionary and committed.
The Eruwa Oyo State-born Adewusi, in his congratulatory message to Akande, said Nigeria suffered much of its setback as a result of the leadership deficit in the past.
“But had our country been blessed with leaders like Chief Bisi Akande at all levels and in all ages past, Nigeria would have found its rightful place in the comity of nations,” Adewusi said.
Extolling the virtues and qualities of Akande, Adewusi said the former Osun Governor represents a good specimen in astute administration in public and private sectors, community leadership and nationalism.
The statement personally signed by Adewusi stated, “We are today celebrating Chief Akande because over the decades, he has filled the space as a credible leader whose interventions in the affairs of the people have proved to be very progressive. As the governor of Osun, his landmarks are there till date. As a party leader, he has the enviable record of leading a party, which won the presidency within very few years of its formation. He has since played the role of a bridge builder since then till date.”
Adewusi prayed for long life adding that Nigeria has more to gain from the wealth of experience of his likes.
