Below is the communique:

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF THE NATIONAL WORKING COMMITTEE (NWC) MEETING OF THE AFRICAN DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (ADC) HELD ON 31ST JULY, 2018, AT THE PARTY HEADQUARTERS, WUSE, ABUJA.

After an extensive deliberation on ways to move the Party forward and position it for the next general election; as well as party congresses, earlier slated to hold in some states of the federation, with special attention on Oyo State; scheduled to hold on 4th, 7th and 11th August, 2018, for wards, local governments and state respectively, the  NWC hereby resolves as follows:

1. To allow for an inclusive congress, as well as giving room for new entrants into the Party to register their membership, the ward congress, earlier scheduled to hold on the 4th of August, is hereby shifted to 7th of August; same day with the local government congress. However, while the ward congress will hold in the morning (9 – 12am), the local congress will be in the afternoon (2 – 4pm).

2. To offer a level-playing ground to all stakeholders, a 7-man commitee has been inaugurated by the NWC to take over the mantle of leadership from the State Coordinator, Chief Layiwola Olakojo. The Commitee is to oversee the party congresses in the State . The party; therefore, directs chief Olakojo to hand over all party materials in his custody to the Committee; as he seizes to be the state coordinator upon the arrival of the committee in Ibadan.

3. The NWC then enjoins all party members in the State to be of good conduct; in a bid to entrenching party internal democracy which will be devoid of crises and internal wrangling.

National Chairrman

Alhaji Sa’id Baba Abdullahi

National Secretary
