The member representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency and candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Honourable Adedapo Lam Adesina, has berated the rate at which his campaign billboards are being defaced and destroyed across the constituency, noting that the current wave of attacks on his property meant that his life “is still under threat.”

Lam-Adesina, in a statement made available to newsmen, said he made the position following the destruction of his campaign bill board at Aremo area of Ibadan two days after his constituency office in Ibadan South-East was vandalised.

The lawmaker noted that though the evil agents had begun with the destruction of his property, with only God knowing their next plan, he would not be cowed or provoked, saying: “They are destroying properties today; only God knows their next plan. But I am not shaken, because I have God and the people behind me.”

He called on security agencies in the state to rise to the occasion and nip the evil intentions of the agents of darkness to cause crisis in his constituency in the bud, noting, however, that as a peaceful politician, who learnt politics at the feet of the most peaceful, people-oriented and true progressive former governor of Oyo State,Late Alhaji Lam Adesina, he would continue to prevail on his followers to maintain peace.

The lawmaker, it would be recalled, had in May 2018, raised the alarm on threat to his life and security from the state government following his fallout with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as one of the leaders of the APC Unity Forum in Oyo State.

“Some months ago, when I raised the alarm that my life was under threat from some self-made gods in the APC, many people thought it was a joke taken too far. Today, the alarm is being justified by the renewed hostility against my ambition and properties, as indicated in the destruction of my campaign bill boards two days after my constituency office was vandalised.

“I am also calling on well-meaning elders and institutions in Ibadanland not to fold their arms and allow political desperadoes to destroy the peace in our city and our state through their actions. Ibadan is bigger than anybody’s ambition or greedy desire to build a dynasty and I am sure the people will make them realise this through their votes,” the statement read.
