Foremost Islamic cleric, Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello, on Wednesday, delivered the first Abiola Ajimobi memorial Ramadan lecture.
Speaking during the program, which took place at the Abiola Ajimobi Islamic Centre in Ibadan, the cleric said that the late former governor lived a fulfilled life and governed Oyo State to the best of his ability noting that “nothing has changed since he left office.”
In his lecture on the topic, “Nothing goes without reward from Almighty Allah,” Bello identified four set of individuals that Allah won’t accept their fast.
“There are four people Allah won’t accept their fast. The first person is someone who drinks alcohol; a drinker should not fast because Allah won’t accept it and such person won’t enter Aljannah.
“Secondly, those that cut family ties should not bother to fast because Allah won’t accept. The third set of people are those who offend both their parents. If such person fasts, he or she is only wasting energy and time. This is why a child must not offend his father through his mother.
“Anyone who keeps malice should also not fast because it won’t be accepted. Some people will keep malice till their breath their last.”
Speaking further, he noted that Ajimobi completed his days in office at the right time with good achievements.
Earlier, in his welcome address, the chairman of the occasion, Mutiu Oladejo, said the vacuum left behind by Ajimobi is still vacant.
Oladejo, who is the Asiwaju Adini of Oyo State, Alhaji Mutiu Oladejo, also said Muslims must always prepare for death.
“He has legacies in all areas of human endeavours. We should all remember to prepare for our death. The vacuum left behind as a result of the death of the former Governor has not been filled.
“Let us join hands with our leaders to move the state forward. I urge all youths to join hands with our leaders to move the state forward,” he noted.
The event was attended by several dignitaries including APC gubernatorial candidate in the 2019 general elections, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari (Oyo North), Chief Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), House of Reps member, Tolulope Sadipe, Ajimobi’s younger brother, Mr. Wasiu Ajimobi, his children, aides among others.
