OYO INSIGHT had reported how Ladoja defected from the ADC to Zenith Labour Party, ZLP last year. This was after the Ibadan high chief left Accord for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2017.

Speaking on why he left Ladoja, Sunday Igboho told the mammoth crowd that it was when he realised that the former governor was being unnecessarily divisive, jumping from one party to the other in a bid to satisfy personal interests.”

He would later lampoon the APC for being a government of the few, not interested whatsoever in the welfare of the masses, thereafter declaring his unending support for Lanlehin.

Lanlehin, had earlier paid homage to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III, who acknowledged Lanlehin’s rich heritage, being the son of one time Action Group treasurer, Chief Samuel Owoola Lanlehin, saying: “if our people repay children on account of their parent’s good deeds, then Senator Olufemi Lanlehin shouldn’t struggle to campaign at all, as his father, Chief S.O. Lanlehin, was one of the closest associates of Awolowo, and a true progressive to the core”.

In her own words, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, who is seeking to return to the Senate on the platform of the party, described the ADC as the masses’ party, maintaining that ” irrespective of the antics of the opposition, the ADC will win the coming polls in the state. All projects of the party, he said, would continue be tailored to meet the people’s aspirations.
