A lecturer from the troubled Ladoke Akintola University Of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso may succeed outgoing vice-chancellor,Prof Adeniyi Gbadegesin, whose tenure ends soon.

Since inception, OYO INSIGHT learnt, LAUTECH has always been led by a professor appointed from federal universities. If the recent screening is anything to go by, the hope of the institution’s workers to have the first homegrown VC is near.

Few days ago, three professors- all from the institution, were shortlisted from 11 applicants who had applied from within and outside the school. This was after a thorough screening and interview, this newspaper gathered.

They all hail from Osun State as the outgoing VC hails from Oyo State. The institution, this newspaper recalled, is jointly owned by the two states.

The trio, according to an inside source told OYO INSIGHT, are Professors Michael Olufisayo Ologunde, Idowu Adetunji and Timothy Adebayo

Ologunde, a lecturer at the department of food science and engineering, who came first, hails from Iwo town. Adebayo and Adetunji, who are from the same agronomy department, came second and third respectively. They are from Esa Oke and Ikirun respectively.

Their names and curriculum vitae are said to have been sent to visitors through the chairman of the governing council, Prof. Dapo Afolabi.
