Sanusi who was the chairman of the occassion advised the school’s alumni present to come together with a view to turning around the fortunes of the school which according to him like other schools the standard is seriously falling.

He urged them to earmark certain percentage of their resources towards infrastructural development of their school, this he said, will bring about a conducive learning enviroment for the present crop of students.

“Without mincing words, we all know that the situation is not the same anymore. The atmosphere for learning has changed drastically and the condition has worsen. Who among us, given the present situation in this school, can confidently say that the students of today would shine like a million stars the way the our set did?

“The answer to this poser would serve as a wake up call to all of us that our gathering here today is more divine than social. It is divine in the sense that it is God way of getting us together with a view to coming to the rescue of the present crop of students such that they will also pass through a process that will enable them to live a fulfilling life. We can make this school great again if we all resolve to do so. We can improve learning condition in this school, if as a unit, we gather our resources together for that purpose.

“We all know the huge amount of money we pay in the private secondary schools that our children attend or have attended. If each and every one of us gathered here could give a fraction of that consistently with the sole aim of improving learning condition in this school, I can assure you that we would have contributed a lot to the tomorrow of these students”, the business mogul asserted.

Sanusi concluded his speech by saying that “I will round off this speech by quoting the words of Mahatma Gandhi, he once said that “the best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Therefore, i am urging all of us to discover ourselves by comitting a fraction of our resources towards creating a better learning condition for the students of this school. With this gesture, we can be rest assured that we are performing a dual function of discovering ourselves and giving the tomorrow of the students a good meaning.

In the words of the Chairman of the School’s Alumni, Bar. Bayo Mutalubi Ojo, a former Commissioner for Justice in Oyo state, he thanked Sanusi for honouring their invitation despite his tight schedule and expressed their profound gratitude to him for the donation of two hundred and fifty thousand naira he made to the education trust fund set up by the alumni for the daughter of one of them who died several years ago.
