Yisa Kehinde Yusuf, a professor of English language at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has been appointed member of the University of Maiduguri Governing Council.
Appointed professor 18 years ago, YK Yusuf, as he is fondly called, hailed from Oje-Owode area of Saki East local government of Okeogun part of Oyo State.
A former head of department, vice-dean and dean of the faculty of arts, he was also a Fulbright scholar and Smithsonian Institution fellow in the United States and has been a visiting senior lecturer in the University of Botswana.
He is, in addition, a former chairman of the home branch of the Obafemi Awolowo University Alumni Association.
