The Bobajiro of Ibadan, Chief Theophilus Akinyele, is dead. He died in Lagos, though there is no official information from the family yet.
Though details of his death was sketchy as at press time, OYOINSIGHT.COM understands that Akinyele, died in the early hours of Monday.
Born February 29, 1932 in Ibadan, he was a permanent secretary in the ministries of agriculture and finance in the old western region.
Apart from serving as the registrar and secretary to the council of the the University of Ife, he was secretary to the military government and Head of the civil service of Oyo state and also as the Director of Budget and Special Adviser on Budget Affairs to President Shehu Shagari from 1979-1983.
After retiring from public service, Akinyele worked as a consultant. He was an Officer of the Order of Niger.
