Better Oyo Movement, BOM, has reacted to the hurriedly-packaged release from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, wherein the party, through what it described as faceless group, pieced together tissues of lies, deluge of deceit and heaps of propaganda, describing the release as watery, incoherent and deliberately distortional.
In a reaction sighed by his chairman, Dr Femi Fakunle, wondered why the PDP, notwithstanding its disregard for human lives could descend so low as to distort the facts of the case.
“Sen. Teslim Folarin, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, didn’t only work for the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as president-elect, he mobilized committed Party members as well as others outside to ensure the victory was a landslide in the state.
”On the other hand, Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, with defeat staring him in the face, quickly rushed to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (then presidential candidate), for visit. Being a Yoruba leader, Asiwaju obliged and visited him. The fact is that APC was able to deliver Asiwaju and majority of the national assembly seats because of combined efforts Sen. Folarin and other lovers across the state. If Governor Makinde is what he claims to be, why not deliver his NASS candidates like his leader, Governor Nyesom did? It is just so obvious that the people are tired of him. In the last few days, he has gone begging, with money, in his desperate bid to retain power.”
Commenting on PDP’s disdain for the visit of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior to Ibadan, in furtherance of Senator Teslim Folarin’s campaigns, Akinola mocked the PDP for acting as a “meddlesome interloper”, one who poke noses into the affairs of others.
“Unfortunately, we have grim news for the PDP; Ogbeni is in Ibadan to validate the president-elect’s support for Senator Folarin, and to put to lie all claims of a non-existent alliance between Asiwaju Tinubu and Governor Makinde.
“On this, we have no sympathies for the PDP. We can only urge them to accept their impending defeat in good faith,” the statement concluded.
