The immediate past Miniser of Communications, Barrister Abdul-raheem Adebayo Shittu has described the chairman of the Oyo state Muslim community, Alhaji Kunle Sanni as a ‘political hatchet man’ sent by former governor Abiola Ajimobi to hoodwink the people of the state.

Shittu disclosed this in a letter made available to OYOINSIGHT.COM titled ‘Putting the records straight: In defence of my integrity built over forty years’.

The letter was a reply to allegations levelled against him by Alhaji Kunle Sanni in two social media posts in September 2018 and about a month ago.

In the letter, Shittu described the allegations by his ‘former friend’, Alhaji Kunle Sanni as “deliberate falsehoods, cooked-up stories and mischievous and tendentious fabrications”.

He also described Kunle Sanni as a man who is always too eager to sacrifice him at the alter of personal and selfish aggrandizement.

While reacting to the allegation by Kunle Sanni that the immediate past governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi gave him eight million naira to foot his accomodation bills when he became a Minister in 2015, he wrote, “As to the 8 million mentioned, it is hereby affirmed that Gov. Ajimobi actually donated the sum to me for the payment of my then accommodation at Apo Legislative Quarters.

“I am eternally grateful to him for that brotherly gesture. May Almighty Allah reward him abundantly for that.

“However, the truth of the matter is that, because of some delay in releasing the money, the apartment was eventually paid for by my worthwhile Aburo, Alhaji Ahmed Raji, S.A.N.

“So, when then Gov. Ajimobi released his donation, it was collected by my then associate, Alhaji Yunus Akintunde who, on my instructions, used it to pay for the printing of two thousand copies of each of the seven Islamic books authored me.

“These books have been distributed free of charge both in Abuja and Ibadan.

“Again, May Almighty Allah reward erstwhile Gov. Ajimobi for his contribution to the reprinting of the seven books.”
