I can’t believe it’s ten years already, that you left this cruel world. It all seems like yesterday and it still feels like a bad dream.

You were a brother ,a friend, the most reliable type of person— you were bold, courageous and you feared no foe.

I still remember the last time I was ever going to see you ten years ago, I was leaving Ibadan for Lagos en route London, we were going for Late Gov Ajimobi’s award ceremony, you told me to tell your friends, Hon. Sina Alabi and Late Yaya Ibadan, who were already in London, that you will meet us in a week, only for you to leave us five days after. I still miss you Baba Lekky.

We take solace in the legacy you left behind and pray that the Almighty will continue to bless your soul.

Rest easy Egbon mi, may your memories always be a blessing.
