Former governor Abiola Ajimobi has counseled Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in the last general election to accept his defeat in the polls as God ordained.
Ajimobi made the remarks in Ibadan on Sunday during a reception held in his honour at the Ibadan Civic Centre by billionaire businessman, Chief Kola Daisi who is also his in-law.
He said that God has destined Makinde to attain the position, saying Adelabu would occupy the position at God’s appointed time.
“I commend my son for his courage in the last election, though we lost. We just have to accept that Makinde’s emergence is God-ordained.
“God has been kind to us too for giving us to serve the state for
unprecedented eight years. It is their turn today and it may be our turn again tomorrow,” he said.
The former governor admonished Adelabu not to be perturbed by the defeat, saying his time would surely come at the God’s appropriate time.(NAN)
