Good days are here if Dr. Yunus Akintunde of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, becomes the governor of Oyo State next year. His administration plans to expand agriculture ona large scale using modern scientific value-added strategy and human capital development.
The Oyo-born former commissioner for works and transport, promised a rapid development of agriculture on a large scientific scale deploying contemporary modern techniques to boost the advantage of the state and its economy.
Akintunde, who spoke on AM 120, an early morning political show on the state owned Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS, identified unprecedented wastage resulting from storage problem due to the primary status of agriculture practices in the state over the years without the government making strategic efforts at developing the Agro-allied sector, which he said will simultaneously be engaged in the immediate processing of the large output of agricultural produces across the State.
He assured that his vast experience in management and as an expert in energy economics where he bagged his doctoral degree will be deployed to achieve this feat in his proposed plan to reposition Oyo State when he becomes the governor.
