Yunus Akintunde Donates N2m To UI Muslims Community, Distributes Ramadan Gifts Across Oyo Central

    The shout of Allah Akbar rented the air over the weekend as Dr. Yunus Akintunde, a senatorial aspirant in Oyo central senatorial district, donated N2 million to the University of Ibadan Muslim Community.

    The former commissioner for works and transport in the late Abiola Ajimobi administration made the donation when he chaired this year’s edition of the community’s Ramadan lecture.

    At the event, the Oyo-born politician who had his Ph.d from the institution, said he would continue to support any worthy cause that is targeted towards humanity.


    He charged the community to be more united as it will be helpful in a lot of ways.

    Meanwhile the All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, has distributed food items to party members, community and religious leaders has distributed food items worth several millions of naira in the 11 local government in Oyo central senatorial district as Ramadan nears the end.


    Akintunde, who was represented by Hon. Abiodun Adeyemo (Biddy), said this year’s was just bigger than the previous ones not because he is contesting but because he understands that people are going through a lot occasioned by the downturn in the economy.

    He promised to use all within his capacity to assist humanity, saying that “the society will benefit more when we all commit ourselves to making people smile. I know I can’t do everything. I am human. I will, however, use whatever I have to expand the cause of humanity.”


    Only last Friday, Akintunde and his brother— Engr. Idris Adeoye, donated N5 million to the Oyo central mosque and N1 million to the league of Imams and Alfas in the ancient town.
