The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress on Wednesday criticised two former governors of the state, Rashidi Ladoja and Adebayo Alao-Akala, over their recent utterances against the state Governor, Abiola Ajimobi.
It said the former governors’ utterances portrayed them as politicians who were not in tune with modern principles of governance.
The party’s position was contained in a statement made available to journalists by its state Publicity Secretary, Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde.
Olatunde said it was clear from the former governors’ recent utterances that they were far behind in what he called developmental politics.
He said he was not totally surprised about their statements because their administrations in the state were characterised by violence.
The party spokesman said Ladoja’s frustration could be understood as he had allegedly gone through four different political parties in only one year.
He noted that despite feeding members of the public with lies about Ajimobi and his administration, Ladoja had failed in his two attempts to be re-elected as governor.
Olatunde said, “It is a pity that Senator Ladoja will always find a way to castigate and malign Governor Ajimobi despite the respect the latter accords him.
“We all know that they share family and Governor Ajimobi always accords his brother his due regards.
“However, Senator Ladoja always returns the gesture with cheap shots, falsehood and character assassination unbeffiting of a man of his status but characteristic of his person.”
