A former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Maroof Akinwande, has joined the list of well-wishers as the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi clocks 82.
Akinwande, who represented Oyo federal constituency between 2003 and 2007, said that Alaafin is a gift to human race and not only to Oyo where he reigns.
According to veterinary doctor, who was chairman of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, secondary education board, “Oba Adeyemi’s reign has brought tremendous development to the ancient town.
“I can say it boldly that he is pro-development. I remember when I was putting up one of the structures for my businesses and he got to know. He was so happy and commended me, urging not to relent so that others can be motivated.
“As Baba clocks 82 and almost 50 years on the throne, I pray Allah to continue to imbue him with the knowledge to rule over our kingdom. Hearty congratulations, Kabiyesi.”
