Oyo Police Nab 17-Yr-Old Over Alleged Defilement Of 3-Yr-Old Girl in Saki

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a 17-year-old male, identified as Usman Dauda, for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl in Saki, Oyo State.

The arrest was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday, September 24, 2026, by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade.

According to the statement, the suspect was arrested following a distress report lodged at the Saki Divisional Police Station on September 17, 2026, after the child reportedly went missing while being retrieved from school earlier that afternoon.

The police said a search operation subsequently led to the recovery of the child along a roadside in a distressed condition.

The command said preliminary inquiries indicated that the suspect had allegedly forcefully taken the child into his apartment, where the alleged offence occurred.

Following the discovery, detectives visited and secured the alleged crime scene, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect and recovery of physical evidence linked to the alleged offence.

Ayanlade said the child was promptly taken to a medical facility in Saki, where she is receiving clinical treatment and psychotherapeutic care.

He said the case had been transferred to the Gender Desk of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku, Ibadan, for further investigation and prosecution.

The police spokesperson said the command maintained zero tolerance for child abuse and sexual violence, assuring residents that the matter would be thoroughly investigated.

Ayanlade added that the identity, privacy and dignity of the child and her family would be protected throughout the process in line with the Child Rights Act and established ethical protection guidelines.

The command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspected acts of violence against children and other vulnerable persons to the nearest police facility.
