A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan South-West Local Government, Mr. Bolaji Gbadamosi (Beejay), has hailed the judgment of the Appeal Court on the suit between the Oyo State government and the sacked chairmen of local governments.
Gbadamosi, who made this known in a statement he made available to newsmen in Ibadan, maintained that the judgment has vindicated the Governor Seyi Makinde administration as one guided by the tenets of the rule of law.

This was as he commended the governor for putting in place the reconciliation committee headed by Dr. Saka Balogun, which he said had been working hard to resolve all grievances within the PDP.

He noted that with the forward-looking leadership being provided by the governor and the determination of the local government case in favour of the Oyo State government, it was clear that the PDP would become stronger and better placed to rule the state for a long time to come.

Gbadamosi congratulated Governor Makinde, all PDP members and residents of the state on the victory in suit instituted by displaced APC loyalists to inhibit the delivery of good governance by the Makinde administration, calling on stakeholders to rally round the Makinde government so that it would continue to develop the state.

He charged the sacked chairmen and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to stop wasting their time seeking what is not lost, noting that their speculative and baseless suit, which failed at the Appeal Court, will suffer the same fate at the apex court.

“One received with excitement the judgment of the Appeal Court on the speculative suit initiated by the sacked APC local government chairmen.

“That judgment, to say the least, vindicated Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration as one that is only guided by the rule of law.

“It is my considered view that with this landmark judgment, the wind has been taken off the sail of the Oyo State APC and the sacked chairmen and this should encourage residents of the state to rally round the government and expect more dividends of democracy in the coming months.

“I also want to use the occasion to commend the governor for putting in place a reconciliation committee with sound and experienced party leaders such as Dr. Saka Balogun, Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, Mrs. Mutiat Ladoja, the PDP State Chairman, Chief Kunmi Mustapha, among others.

“I am confident that with the quality works being done by this committee, the party is truly on its way to greatness and it will become stronger to rule the state for many years to come.”
