There is going to be potable water in every household in Oyo State soon.
This statement was made by the chairman of Water Corporation of Oyo State, Moruf Akinwande during his familiarization tour of the corporation’s facilities across the state during the week.
According to the former reps members who stressed further that all the obsolete equipment of the corporation would be replaced gradually despite the paucity of funds, “I have the mandate of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde to give the citizenry of the State potable water within a stipulated time.”
He also reiterated that to provide potable water to the state as promised the problem of power supply being the major problem confronting water supply would be tackled by providing alternative power supply through the provisions of gas turbine and solar isolated power supply where necessary.
The water supply schemes visited were the Eruwa Water Supply Scheme, Iganna Water Supply Scheme and Iseyin Water Supply Schemes located in Koso and Atori.
Others were Ago-Amodu Water Supply scheme, Saki Water Supply Scheme, Igboho Water Supply Scheme, Kisi Water Supply Scheme, Igbeti Water Supply Scheme and Ajinapa Water Supply Scheme, Ogbomoso Water Supply Scheme and Oyo Water Supply Scheme.
The entourage which had earlier visited Asejire and Eleyele Water Schemes in Ibadan is expected to continue the visitation to other formations of the Oyo State Water Corporation next week.
On the Chairman’s entourage were all the directors of the corporation.
