Ibadan North APC Receives Royal Umbrella With Fanfare

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ibadan North Local Government, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, received Hon. Olajide Abayomi, popularly known as Royal Umbrella, with great enthusiasm during the Party’s Local Government meeting.
The reception, which was marked by warmth and excitement, brought together the Party’s leadership, executives, stakeholders and notable members who expressed their delight at Hon. Olajide Abayomi’s decision to identify with and join the APC family in Ibadan North Local Government.
The meeting was led by the APC Ibadan North Local Government Chairman, Engr. Bayonle Salami, alongside the Party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr. Bolade Kazeem Oyekan.
Among the prominent leaders and stakeholders present were Alhaji Omilabu Ghandi, Hon. Adepeju Esan, Mr. Abiodun Omotosho, Alhaja Tinu Adigun, Hon. Ojo Jimoh, and other distinguished leaders and members of the APC in Ibadan North Local Government.
The Party executives and members unanimously welcomed Hon. Olajide Abayomi into the Party, describing his arrival as a significant addition to the APC family and a development capable of further strengthening the Party’s unity and electoral prospects.
Speaking during the reception, leaders including Alhaji Omilabu Ghandi, Alhaja Tinu Adigun and Mr. Abiodun Omotosho described Hon. Olajide Abayomi’s return as “Omowale”, emphasizing that his coming represents the return of one of their own and a homecoming to a political family.
In his remarks, Hon. Olajide Abayomi (Royal Umbrella) expressed appreciation to the Party leadership and members for the warm reception accorded him.
He stated that he was not a stranger to the Party, stressing that the gathering represented a coming together of people who share a common political family and vision.
“I am not a stranger here. We are one, and I am here to be part of the winning team. I am happy to be among my people, and I look forward to working with everyone for the progress and success of our great Party.”
The event ended on a high note, with Party leaders and members expressing optimism that the development would further strengthen the APC in Ibadan North Local Government and contribute positively to the Party’s efforts ahead of future political engagements.
