Popular Fuji musician, Taye Akande Adebisi, popularly called Currency earlier today performed at the South West ‘unification rally’ of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State barely 24 hours after returning from the United Kingdom, one of the Countries with the highest number of Confirmed cases of Coronavirus.

In a public health advisory to Nigerians on coronavirus disease statement by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control dated the 15th of March 2019, it wrote,” travelers from countries with widespread community transmission must undergo secondary screening at the point of entry, self-isolate for 14 days after arrival and be followed up by NCDC and Port Health Services”.

However, Currency who is the special adviser to the Oyo state governor on culture and tourism, who returned the country from the United Kingdom less than 24 hours ago performed at the rally of the ruling party in the State which had in attendance thousands of people from the South-Western part of the Country.

Further investigation by OYOINSIGHT.COM revealed that the musician while in the United Kingdom visited various cities including London, Manchester, Barking, Mottingham, and Cardiff. He also performed in the presence of a large set of people during this period.

According to the BBC earlier today, “A total of 1,950 cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed in the UK – but the actual number of cases is estimated to be between 35,000 and 50,000”.

Further statistics by the BBC showed that more than 70 people who tested positive for the respiratory infection have died.

OYOINSIGHT.COM also discovered that it takes several hours after taking the coronavirus test before getting a result, thereby increasing the likelihood of the musician not knowing his status of the disease since he returned to the Country less than 24 hours ago.

In a press briefing by the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire earlier today, he announced that two out of the five new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country are Nigerians who returned.
