The Director-General of the Civil Society Organisation on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative (CSCHEI), Hon. Kunle Yusuff, called on the President to align the country’s economic policies with a greater focus on development and improving the lives of citizens.

He made the remark in Abuja, during a program organized by CSCHEI to discuss the socioeconomic challenges facing local communities.

During his address, Hon. Yusuff stressed the need for the government’s economic strategies to prioritize initiatives that would drive sustainable development and empowerment at the grassroots level.

“While we acknowledge the government’s efforts to revitalize the economy, we believe there is a critical need to ensure that these policies have a direct and tangible impact on the lives of everyday Nigerians,” stated the CSCHEI Director-General.

He highlighted concerns that current economic measures may be disproportionately benefiting certain sectors or demographic groups, while failing to adequately address the pressing needs of underserved communities.

Hon. Yusuff urged the President to closely engage with civil society organizations like CSCHEI to better understand the realities on the ground and develop more inclusive, community-focused economic programs.

“Our organization works directly with local people, and we have a deep understanding of the challenges they face in terms of access to basic services, livelihood opportunities, and overall socioeconomic development,” he explained.

The CSCHEI Director-General expressed optimism that with greater alignment between government policies and the development priorities of grassroots communities, significant progress could be made in improving the lives of citizens across the country.
