Born on the 7th of September, 1969, Princess  Taibat Adeyemi-Agaba is the fourth child of His The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola and the first child of his wife Ayaba Ramat Adedayo Adeyemi. In this report, OYOINSIGHT profiles the elegant Oyo Princess.

Princess Taibat is a U.S trained Sociologist. She studied both in Nigeria and Los Angeles, California, United States of America with B.Sc in Sociology.

A childcare advocate for over 20 years, fourteen (14) years of which was spent as  a Director at a non-profit organization called Vista De Mar Child and Family Service in Los Angeles California, also a certified Pro-Act (P.A.R.T) instructor, was responsible to train staff in the company on crisis-communications, assaultive responses and behavior modification to enrich the clients life’s.

Council Member, Commissioner… 

In 2011, Princes Taibat was appointed as a council member of Modibbo Adamawa University of Technology, Yola.

She also served as one of the external members that was part of the committee to interview and select the new VIce chancellor.

In June 2016, Former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi announced her appointment as the Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives in the state.

Prior to her appointment, she was an international business woman with vast knowledge in trading in Italy, United Arab Emirates, Turkey and China among others .

While in the United States she owned and managed two (2) different businesses that ran for over sixteen (16)years with one (1) still very popular and viable in California. She is a board certified licensed Cosmetologist  under the board of California,  with specialization in Skin health and Hair care.

While in office as the Commissioner, she bridged the gap between the organized private sectors and the government by organizing quarterly meetings whereby the organized private sectors are able to express their wants and needs. Promotion of “made-in-Nigeria” goods through the market Women and Artisans in Oyo State. Worked with United Nation Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in designing industrial policy for the state, this was completed and submitted to His Excellency, Governor Abiola  Ajimobi in July,2017. Presented  an amendment to the Cooperatives acts/law to the House of assembly which has never been reviewed since 1957, revitalization of Oyo State Cooperatives college located in Ilora by ensuring a law is in place to enable accreditation by the federal government so as to gain national and international recognition .

Princess Taibat is articulate, easy going, with a wicked sense of humor. She also loves reading.

According to her, her love for reading was encouraged by her father. She is happily married with three (3) children.
