Members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the four local government areas of Oyo federal constituency have confirmed their defection to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
OYOINSIGIGHT recalls that some stakeholders of the ADC in the local governments had earlier visited Governor Makinde.
On Thursday evening, a statement issued by the stakeholders after an enlarged meeting in Oyo confirmed their defection to the ruling party.
The statement read in parts: “We members of ADC in entire four Local Governments of Afijio , Atiba, Oyo East and Oyo West Federal Constituency held our extended stakeholders meetings at Hon. Oguntoye Ogundiya’s Compound at 5.00pm today (10/09/2020) where our delegates to the meeting with His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde brief the extended stakeholders about the contents of the meeting.
“This meeting deliberated extensively on the contents of the meeting and agreed as follows;
“That we belief and trust the ability/ capability of His Excellency to resolve all the matters raised in our position paper/ request present to him.
“That we pledge our unalloyed loyalty to His Excellency, That we affirm our defection to the PDP
” That we sincerely appreciate the role(s) played by attendees at the meeting hosted by the Governor at State House, Agodi Ibadan on Satauday 2/09/2020.
