Candidate of the Peoples’s Democratic Party, PDP, in next month’s governorship election in Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde has promised to appoint as commissioner for youths and sports someone who is not up to 30 years.

Makinde, who gave the assurance during an interactive session with Oyo youths, also assured that “We will not just take list of prospective appointees from the elders, I will ensure that youth leaders also participate in the process.”

This is just as Makinde, who was obviously elated by the attendance, urged them to work assiduously for the success of the party in the coming elections.

“Do your part, mobilize people to the polling units to vote PDP and let me worry about protecting the votes,” he noted.

He explained that his administration would provide jobs that will boost the growth of the youths “unlike the present administration whose idea of providing jobs through the YES-O program where graduates earn N10,000 a month as not been exemplary,” adding as a beneficiary of free education, he will ensure that free and qualitative education is returned to public schools.

He also expressed his readiness to ensure not more than 30 pupils sit in a classroom.

Speaking earlier, the party’s youth leader, Peoples, Asiwaju Adekola Adeoye, had assured Makinde that he and his colleagues would all within the confines of the law to ensure that the party’s governorship candidates and others triumph in the coming election.
