PHOTOS: LAUTECH Alumni Association Visits Oyo Deputy Governor

The leadership of Oyo state chapter of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH Alumni Association, led by Engr Ijadunola Olushina Hamod, has paid a courtesy visit to deputy governor of Oyo state, Engr Rauf Olaniyan, as part of efforts to finding a lasting solution to some prevalent issues in the society, and in particular to their alma mater as state institution.

Ijadunola, who used the opportunity to thank  Olaniyan for honouring the association’s request, conveyed members’ appreciation to Engr. Seyi Makinde administration for the continuous support to LAUTECH.

While acknowledging the development in the state, Ijadunola used the opportunity to discuss the feedback from members in the areas of agriculture value chain, and the need for government to give necessary support in order to boost the state’s economy and reduce the burden of unemployment.

He further asked for the support of the government in consideration of LAUTECH alumni in the composition of the state executive, as well as available job opportunities “as the state community deserves inputs from products they have heavily invested on through regular fundings and subventions.”

Olaniyan, while responding, appreciated the alumni for the courtesy visit and the feedback.

He, however, enjoined the leadership to convey the goodwill of the government to their members, tasking them to educate the students of LAUTECH on the need to understand virtue in peaceful demands from government and shun the act of violence which they usually resort to whenever they have opportunity to meet government.

 

He also admonished against students radicalism, emphasizing that development happens under harmonious environment.

Olaniyan acknowledged the request of the executive on the job opportunities and cabinet membership but emphasized the need for due processes and institutions of other indigenes of the state. He also assured the leadership of government’s willingness to consider LAUTECH alumni with good performances in the subsequent job opportunities.

He then solicited for the support and cooperation of members of the association in order to bring the plans of the government to fruition for LAUTECH and people of Oyo state.

Among other executives present were vice Chairman, Adekunle Adetunji; the PRO, Inaolaji Akinloye and Social Director, Adesina Barakat Adenike.
