It was an ecstatic moment yesterday’s evening as Adedapo Lam-Adesina, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency began his electioneering campaign.
At St. Cyprian Catholic Pry School, Oluyoro, venue of the weekly meeting of the party in Ibadan North East, the youthful Lam-Adesina who was received by members who included the elderly, women, youth and party leaders, thanked them for their support.
According to the son of late former governor Lamidi Adesina who had represented the federal constituency between 2015 and 2019, urged members to eschew grievances, saying that “I am surprised by this number. Imagine a party in opposition pulling this number. I want to commend you for this. Let’s forget the issue of the past. Let’s unite to win. From top to bottom, let’s vote candidates of the APC in all election and I can assure that we will all benefit.
”I am not here to talk to you today because I know you are here because of the love you have for our party. I will still come back here. I thank our leaders for the endurance and resilience. I am grateful.”
Leaders who spoke at the event commended party members for what they described as their support towards mending fences among the aggrieved members of the party.
At the event were Mojeed Olaoya, senatorial chairman of the party in Oyo south; Alhaji Mufutau Gbayawu; Gbade Lana, a prince and former chairman of Ibadan East LCDA; Sikiru Akinola Alli, a former parliamentarian; Ajibola Adesina, candidate of the party in Ibadan North East 1 state constituency and host of others.
